New pilot project on HIV prevention among users of new psychoactive substances

Since January 2021, as part of a new 3-year UNDP/GF Project, a pilot project has been launched (Bishkek and the western part of the Chui region) to work with consumers of new psychoactive substances (surfactants) and to provide them with HIV prevention and treatment services. To identify the characteristics of the group and identify approaches and needs for preventive services necessary for the implementation of the UNDP/GF Project, 2 focus group discussions were held with consumers of new surfactants. As a result of the meeting, information was received on the situation with the spread of new surfactants in these regions and the needs of people using them were identified, which can be covered by the funds of the UNDP/GF Project.
