Switching to an enhanced mode of operation in connection with temporary conversion for the period of the coronavirus pandemic, the National Center of Phthisiology (NCF) first of all took care of its patients. According to the World Health Organization, a new type of coronavirus is especially unfavorable for those who have serious illnesses, including tuberculosis.
According to the management, along with the work in the usual mode, the NCF has taken certain preventive measures. "Patients who, for medical reasons, could be transferred to outpatient treatment were discharged home under the supervision of family doctors. The remaining patients continue to receive treatment in the NCF itself. In case there is a need to vacate hospital beds for COVID-19, a plan has been developed to transfer our patients to other tuberculosis hospitals in Bishkek and Chui region," says Bolot Maykanaev, Director of the NCF.
At the same time, given that a large number of tuberculosis patients live in the regions, the issue of informing them about COVID-19 prevention measures has been resolved. It is regularly posted on the Facebook page of the NCF with duplication in other profile social networks - for wider dissemination.
