The country dialogue is a mandatory event in the process of preparing a country application. Such meetings provide opportunities for all interested parties to express their wishes and voice priorities that are important for each of the communities, which should be taken into account when preparing a country application.

The event, which took place on January 21, 2020, was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republican Center for Narcology, the Republican AIDS Center, the National Center for Phthisiology and the Center for Health Development of the Kyrgyz Republic and the National Red Crescent Society of the Kyrgyz Republic. In addition, representatives of international organizations USAID, UNAIDS, UNDP, Soros, UNFPA, KNCV, GIZ, CDC and civil society took part in the country dialogue.

During the meeting, presentations on the epidemiological situation in the field of HIV and the cascade of treatment were heard. The UNAIDS Country Manager, Ms. Sarybayeva M.E., voiced the recommendations of the Optima study for Kyrgyzstan, and the UNDP/GF Project Coordinator, Ms. Babicheva I.V., presented the priorities of the GFATM for the country application to the participants of the meeting.

The results of PEPFAR for 2019 and plans for 2020 were also presented. Special attention was paid to the result-based financing model, which was presented by PSI Director Mr. Saliev D.A.

The presentation on priorities and models of services for MSM groups and trans communities was made by the Director of the Kyrgyz Indigo Foundation, Mr. Alimkulov A.

After that, the members of the Working Group provided information on both components on the first steps in the preparation of the country application. In particular, an action plan was drawn up, letters were sent to the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Ministry of Finance and the FOMS, several meetings were held with community representatives and meetings with partners are planned to harmonize activities for the next period in order to avoid duplication of activities.
