RC "AIDS" summed up the results of the month of prevention and fight against AIDS

On the eve of World AIDS Day, on November 28, 2019, the Republican AIDS Center, together with partners, non-governmental and international organizations, held a meeting at the Europa Hotel, where the results of the national HIV testing campaign were summed up, statistics on the situation with HIV infection in the country were given.

This year, the theme of World AIDS Day is focused on communities and sounds like: "Communities are making changes." It is communities that play a key role in prevention programs and recognition of the role of communities at the local and international levels is a priority of all programs.

According to the director of the RC "AIDS", Umutkan Zhusupova, a month is held annually in Kyrgyzstan as part of the World AIDS Day. This year it is held under the motto "Communities achieve change". During the month of AIDS prevention and control, 1,304 people were tested in the markets of Bishkek, Osh and Karasuu, of which 4 positive cases were initially identified. "The task is not only to identify, but also to register, connect to treatment and do everything so that a person receives this treatment," Umutkan Zhusupova noted.
