On August 14-15, 2019, Issyk-Kul hosted a meeting of the members of the Coordination Council for Public Health under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic (KSPC under the GKR) and the chairmen of the regional coordination commissions for health system management to develop mechanisms for effective vertical communication and coordination on the components of HIV and TB.

The Director of the Republican AIDS Center, Ms. Chokmorova U.Zh., made a welcoming speech, who also presented to the other participants of the meeting a presentation of the dynamics of HIV detection and referral of patients to ARV therapy by region. Separately, she dwelled on the existing barriers to registration and the existing problems of stigma and discrimination. Also Ms. Chokmorova U.Zh. noted the importance of achieving the goals 90-90-90 and drew the attention of representatives of the regional coordination mechanisms to the reasons why these indicators are not being achieved. In order to reach the first 90 RC AIDS, from June 1, 2019, launched a self-test for HIV (similar to pregnancy tests and blood sugar determination, the patient will now be able to determine the HIV status himself).

Also during the meeting, the Chairman of the Public Council of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic / Member of the Committee on Combating HIV / AIDS, TB and Malaria at the KSHP RKR, Mr. Sultangaziev A.T., presented information on the interaction of coordination mechanisms with civil society in prevention and treatment of HIV and tuberculosis. In his speech, Mr. Sultangaziev A.T. reported on the results of the consultation meeting held on July 25-26, 2019, at which it was decided to create a Working Group. This Working Group will carry out working visits to all regions of the republic to analyze the situation on the ground. It was noted that it is necessary to involve regional authorized persons in all activities in the field of HIV and TB prevention. In addition, regional representatives of the coordination mechanisms should be actively involved in the activities of the Roadmap. In particular, the experience with the RC AIDS campaign to identify HIV-positive people among the general population was mentioned (rapid saliva testing was carried out in the markets), during which several people with HIV status were identified. Similar events, according to Mr. Sultangaziev A.T. could contribute to reaching the first 90.
