HIV there is no vaccine, but people don't die

May 19, 2019. On the eve of the world day of remembrance died from AIDS in Kyrgyzstan are activities designed to honor the memory of 35.4 million people who have died of AIDS since the beginning of the epidemic in the world.

“This day we want to remind you that HIV is still no vaccine, but there are effective treatments that allow people with HIV to live a full, quality life and for many years,” said Umutkan Zhusupova, Director of RC AIDS

According to representatives of civil society, to die of AIDS in the 21st century is stupid.

“We appeal to all patients who are on treatment or who only think about how to start taking therapy. While the country has effective treatment and free medicines, we need to continue regular treatment, you need to take responsibility for their health into their own hands, to take drugs and continue to LIVE,” said Aibar Sultangaziev, Director of the Association “Partnership network”.

According to the Director of UNAIDS in Kyrgyzstan, Meerim Sarybaeva, - “anyone who does not have HIV, it is important to know your status, and at least once in 6 months to undergo free and anonymous HIV testing. Regular testing can significantly reduce risks and most importantly - to take responsibility for their own health and the health of their sexual partner”

The day of the AIDS memorial serves as a reminder that HIV exists in the country and will not leave. Only together, developing partnerships, increasing public investment and improving social partnership between state bodies, NGOs, communities and international organizations, we can finally end the AIDS epidemic by 2030.
