What is HIV/AIDS?

HIV infection is a progressive infectious disease that is a result of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).

The world health organization on the website says that the virus attacks the immune system and weakens the system of protection of people from infection and "some types of cancer." The immune system is measured by CD4 cell count. As soon as the virus slowly begins to develop in the human body, the number of CD4 cells becomes smaller.

AIDS — acquired immunodeficiency syndrome — a serious condition, which is the most advanced stage of HIV. AIDS can develop in the human body for 2-15 years.

"A man noted a significant decrease in immunity and the presence of one or more serious diseases called AIDS-associated. AIDS-associated illnesses and are the cause of death of HIV-infected patients. AIDS can be avoided!" — they say on the Russian portal "AIDS.The centre".

In the case of HIV there is no specific "risk group" — the disease, according to the portal "AIDS.Center", distributed by "risky behavior, which in different circumstances can practice any man."
