The HIV Prevention programme aims to reduce vulnerability to HIV and its impact in the Osh region through strengthening knowledge and skills in the area of HIV, STIs (sexually transmitted infections), and drugs, and reduce stigma and discrimination and support people living with HIV.

The purpose of the program:

Reducing vulnerability to HIV and its influence in Kyrgyzstan through the achievement of the following results:

•prevent the further spread of HIV infection;

•support for people with HIV;

•reduce stigma and discrimination in HIV;

•enhance the capacity of National red Crescent Society to conduct and support large-scale programmes to combat HIV.

Activities were carried out in all regions through a network of volunteers who are trained in skills training and the prevention of HIV infection. Volunteers conduct information sessions in schools, Universities and in public places.

On the eve of world day against AIDS, the volunteers conducted polls among the population and inform the population about HIV.Schools held information sessions, distribution of leaflets, red ribbons that volunteers do on their own.

Volunteers are supported by monthly issuance of food packages for PLHIV 10x children from disadvantaged families
