Mass screening of children for tuberculosis will be carried out in Naryn region

В Нарынской области будет проведен массовый скрининг детей на туберкулез
At the initiative of the Presidential Plenipotentiary Mission in the Naryn region, a mass screening of children for tuberculosis will be carried out. This initiative was the result of the coordination established by the USAID project "Support for Tuberculosis patients" between stakeholders involved in the fight against tuberculosis in the region. First of all, children who have been in contact with people with tuberculosis, children from socially vulnerable families and children of migrants will be examined.

Much is being done in Kyrgyzstan to put an end to the tuberculosis epidemic. And the Naryn region is considered one of the leading in the detection and treatment of this disease. However, the pandemic of coronavirus infection has complicated the work of doctors. In 2020, almost all forces are med. organizations were thrown into the fight against COVID-19. Quarantine measures, restrictions on movement contributed to the fact that the detection of tuberculosis decreased. All this, according to experts, can lead to a sharp increase in the number of cases in the coming years.

Doctors and local authorities of the Naryn region will join forces to identify new cases of tuberculosis among children and start treatment as early as possible.

Elmira Sadykova, Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the President in Naryn region: "Healthy children are our healthy future. Our task is to help doctors in detecting tuberculosis in our region. To do this, we must combine our efforts and cover as many children as possible with screening. On the part of the plenipotentiary mission, I want to assure you that we will not leave this half way. All further work will be under our control."
