On October 10-11, 2019, in Tokmok, an off-site training was held to increase the capacity of members of the Committee on HIV / AIDS, TB and Malaria under the KSPC on organization of work, coordination, management, monitoring and evaluation of activities in the field of HIV infection and tuberculosis in in accordance with the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic and approved procedures, internal rules and regulations of the Committee.

During the training, the members of the KSPC Committee were familiarized with the history of the formation and development of state policy in the field of HIV infection and its coordination mechanism in the Kyrgyz Republic. An overview of the main documents, requirements and approaches to the country coordinating mechanism, its goals, objectives and financing of its activities was given. They were familiarized with the rules and internal procedures of the Coordination Council on Public Health under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic (KSPC) and the Committee on Combating HIV / AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria under the KSPZ. Particular attention was paid to the topic of Conflict of Interests and the Conflict of Interests Policy. The role of the sectors (public, civil, private) in the work of the PSCC Committee on HIV / AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, the functions of the main and alternative members of the PSCC Committee and the main requirements for the country coordination mechanism during the development of proposals and oversight of the implementation of activities within the framework of state programs on HIV / AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria.


After presentations on the structure, goals and objectives, main functions and methods of work of the PSCC Committee, group work was carried out. The members of the PSCC Committee split into 2 groups and discussed whether the existing structure allows for effective coordination of actions of different partners in the national HIV response and what steps need to be taken to improve the work of the country coordination mechanism.
