In the framework of the 72nd session of the WHA, the Minister of health Kosmosbek of Cholponbaev held a meeting with the Director of the division for Eastern Europe and Central Asia the Global Fund (GF) Maria Kirova, regional Director of the Global Fund Dimitri Maticevski. This meeting was held in the framework of the 72nd session of the WHA in Geneva.
During the meeting the parties discussed the possibility of continuing funding from the global Fund 2021 programs for the prevention and control of HIV infection and tuberculosis in Kyrgyzstan. It was discussed and promotion of the roadmap years for 5-year transition to state funding in the framework of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic on HIV infection in 2017-2021, which provides for a phased allocation of funds from the state budget.
"I thank the Global Fund for cooperation, which since 2004 is helping us in the fight against AIDS, tuberculosis. In 2016, the Kyrgyz Republic, is considered malaria-free. Funding and technical assistance the Global Fund has become one of the key factors in the prevention and control of AIDS and tuberculosis, and I have great hope that after 2021, our cooperation will continue,” - said the Minister of healthcare of Kosmosbek Cholponbaev.
