Improving diagnosis of tuberculosis in Kyrgyzstan
On 7 and 8 February 2019 in the conference hall of the hotel "Ambassador" held a working meeting of representatives of the National TB program (NTP), the project "will Win tuberculosis" and "the Challenge of tuberculosis", funded by USAID, representatives of USAID Kyrgyzstan and Supra-National laboratories of the world Health Organization, cities and Borstel Gauting, Germany (SNRL who) in the development and implementation of the transition Plan. This Plan is developed on the basis of the results of eighteen months of the project "to Stop the transmission of tuberculosis in hospitals" with the introduction of sequencing of M. Tuberculosis (MBT) and the diagnosis of latent tuberculosis infection.
As said, the NTP Director, doctor of medical Sciences Abdullat Kadyrov: "the introduction of the sequencing of M. Tuberculosis is the modern method of diagnosis of tuberculosis and determination of sensitivity of strains of MBT to anti-TB drugs and patients will have access to individualized treatment based on full information on the drug sensitivity profile of M. tuberculosis. Introduction the test the QuantiFERON-TV GOLD plus will allow to determine the presence of latent tuberculosis infection and initiate timely preventive treatment."
